The information in this report is based on an online survey taken by almost 1,200 employee benefits brokers and consultants in late December 2019 through March 2020.

  • This report, which was conducted in December, 2019 and January, 2020, includes the thoughts and opinions of roughly 600 benefits professionals (more than 300 benefits brokers and about 270 employers). Specifically, this summary includes perspectives from participants on the topic of expatriate benefits (i.e. employee benefits, including medical, dental, life or disability insurance for expatriates [or expats] who temporarily or permanently reside in a different country from where they are a citizen).

  • This Briefing explores the concept of reputation, the importance of managing reputation, drivers of reputation, and current insurance carriers’ reputations. This report is based on a special information exchange conducted in March and April 2019, which was completed by roughly 300 brokers, 300 employers, and 800 members of the informed general public. In addition to NEBAF members, we invited members of the general public to participate in this exchange as well, and the report includes comparisons of responses across the three audiences.

  • This Briefing explores New York area broker members' awareness of New York state's Disability Benefits Law (DBL), DBL authorized carriers, and the importance of various aspects of such plans when working with clients. This report is based on an information exchange conducted in May 2017, among more than 90 brokers, who indicated they have group clients in New York State, personally advise those clients on group disability, and are at least somewhat familiar with New York state Disability Benefits Law (DBL).
