- This Briefing delves into both brokers' and employers' opinions regarding and experiences with Health Care Reform, as well as a variety of other issues. It is based on an information exchange conducted in December of 2013, among close to 450 brokers and more than 150 benefits decision-makers. Topics include: reactions to the impact of health care reform, issues related to open enrollment, views on voluntary identity theft insurance, and evaluations of non-medical insurance providers.

- In this report, brokers and benefits decision-makers share opinions about their interactions with carriers who provide group life, dental, disability and other voluntary products. In an online survey among more than 300 brokers and more than 150 employers, the study was conducted in May and June of 2013. Research participants evaluate their experiences with carriers, provide their views on hospital indemnity insurance, and on auto insurance as a voluntary benefit offered in the workplace.

Both of these groups provide opinions on strategies used to handle data when working with multiple carriers. They both also share views on online benefits administration, including the importance of various online benefits administration capabilities. Brokers only provide insights on value-add services that insurance carriers may provide.

Conducted among close to 600 brokers, the survey upon which this report is based was conducted in November, 2012. Brokers provide information on benefits strategies they recommend to clients, and best practices for employee education. They also share their points of view on economic, legal and regulatory trends, including several aspects of health care reform.
